چکیده

Abstract. In this paper, we present a review of results for discrete-time risk models, including the compound binomial risk model and some of its extensions. While most theoretical risk models use the concept of time continuity, the practical reality is discrete. For instance, recursive formulas for discretetime models can be obtained without assuming a claim severity distribution and are readily programmable in practice. Hence the models, techniques used, and results reviewed here for discrete-time risk models are of independent scientific interest. Yet, results for discrete-time risk models can give, in addition, a simpler understanding of their continuous-time analogue. For example, these results can serve as approximations or bounds for the corresponding results in continuous-time models. This paper will serve as a detailed reference for the study of discrete-time risk models.

Dynamic Pricing with Periodic Review and a Finite set of Prices with Cancellation

In this paper, three dynamic pricing models are developed and analyzed. We assume a limited number of a particular asset is offered for sale over a period of time. This asset is perishable and can be an inventory or a manufacturing capacity. During each period, the seller sets a price for this asset. This price is selected from a predetermined discrete set. The maximum amount which a customer i...

The Effectiveness of the Models and Guidelines on Detecting High-Risk Pregnancies: A Systematic Review

Background: The models or guidelines that make it possible for pregnant mothers to diagnose high-risk pregnancy signs and symptoms are not clearly stated. This systematic review was conducted to answer the question: what models/guidelines have contributed to women’s knowledge/performance regarding the detection of high-risk pregnancy?   Method: This systematic review uses the Preferred Reporti...

Time-Varying Modeling of Systematic Risk: using High-Frequency Characterization of Tehran Stock Exchange

We decompose time-varying beta for stock into beta for continuous systematic risk and beta for discontinuous systematic risk. Brownian motion is assumed as nature of price movements in our modeling. Our empirical research is based on high-frequency data for stocks from Tehran Stock Exchange. Our market portfolio experiences 136 days out of 243 trading days with jumps which is a considerable rat...

Modeling and Evaluation of Stochastic Discrete-Event Systems with RayLang Formalism

In recent years, formal methods have been used as an important tool for performance evaluation and verification of a wide range of systems. In the view points of engineers and practitioners, however, there are still some major difficulties in using formal methods. In this paper, we introduce a new formal modeling language to fill the gaps between object-oriented programming languages (OOPLs) us...
